Alan Estala


Alan is a proud first generation college graduate who brings both lived experience and a deep commitment to equity and student success to Project Next. Born in Tijuana and raised in Imperial Beach, Alan understands firsthand the challenges many students face as they navigate school, identity, and future planning.


Alan earned his bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Spanish from San Diego State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and recently completed his master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Postsecondary Educational Leadership and Student Affairs. His professional background includes supporting students with basic needs, coordinating transition programs for first generation college students, and creating inclusive spaces where students feel empowered to seek support without stigma.


Alan is passionate about meeting students where they are, helping them discover their strengths, and guiding them toward meaningful postsecondary and career pathways. Twin Oaks students are gaining a dedicated advocate who truly believes in their potential.
